Part 1 Sorensen (Chen) --------If American Dream is equal to everyone ?

Personally speaking, I admit that citizens of America have access to be successful through their hardworking. However, I do not think that everyone could be available to the success equally. I hold the point of view that because of the rational of the Declaration of Independence which includes the equality, people who have achievements in the USA have a feeling of superiority when facing those people who are castaway. American Dream could not be realized as people are not equal indeed.

The change of attitudes that people hold towards others

The picture I choose suggests the fact that the benefits which are mentioned in the Declaration of Independence ensure that everyone have access to be successful. A phenomenon that some successful people would look down on others. I used to meet a man who is wealthy in the USA. Because he attaches importance to the money, he enjoys judging others whether they are successful by using his own standards—how much money they own. However, it’s unfair because the thing chased by everyone is different. He damages others’ legal rights.

On the other hand, people are bullied by them could not defend themselves as well, because it would be against the Declaration of the Independence at the same time. I used to witness this situation once. A person who is wealthy looked down on a poor man in public in the USA. However, the poor man could not be against the rich man or he would be against laws.

In conclusion, my belief is that American Dream must be a kind of idealism. Because of the variety of the public’s desire. It is impossible for a country to meet all kinds of needs. The reason why the government always promotes this idea is just a way to show off its strength to the world.
