The
American dream has been demonstrated in the movies and basketball matches
through heroism, which is a realistic way to present it. And this has changed
the outlooks on world, outlooks on life and outlooks on values of those who
watched media significantly.
For
instance, in the movie Interstellar, Cooper was defiantly a hero. His story was
highly consistent with the American dream. Interstellar was basically talking
about a group of people tried to find another planet to build a colony since
the earth was not suitable to live anymore. Cooper and others tried to finish one
of their plans so badly. At last they made both plan A and plan B. Creating a successful
hero with hard work that have done is more easily acceptable for the audience.
And since the American dream passed by the movies is supposed to be accepted
rather than abandoned, almost all of this kind of movies presented it in a
realistic way.
Furthermore,
the stories of famous basketball players had illustrated it as well. Once a
reporter asked Kobe Bryant why he was so successful, and he answered: “Do you
know how Los Angeles looks every morning at 4 a.m.?” Kobe was defiantly a hero
of Lakers. In addition to his basketball skills, his hard training is also well
known, which is apparently connected to the American dream. The biggest benefit
to demonstrate American dream through heroes might be that people would follow
them without doubts.
